Portmarnock Vet Clinic and owned and run by Emily McAteer. She is a fully qualified veterinary surgeon. She
has been in practice, working with small animals for over 20 years. She practices both conventionally and holistically. She has developed a
style of medicine which includes both approaches, which is very effective and popular. She has had a lot of success in managing chronic
cases such as skin conditions, gastro-intestinal problems and arthritis in a way, which is not only effective but inexpensive. She has
successfully managed cancer cases, where conventional medicine alone can be ineffective, both prolonging life and preserving a good
quality of life.
MODERN VETERINARY DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT

The Veterinary Clinic in Portmarnock has been in existence for over 20 years. It was previously owned by holistic practitioner, Jimmy Fox. Emily took over in 2013 and has built it in to what it is today. She and the other vets see patients from all over the country and can work together with the owners' own local vet to develop effective, long term treatment plans.

Our practice is warm and welcoming. Animal welfare is paramount to us. We endeavour to make the animals visit as stress free and as fun as possible with plenty of treats, hugs and cuddles. As many of our treatments are non invasive animals like coming to us. Children are welcome and we host regular puppy parties.

Holistic Vet Dublin is housed within Portmarnock Vet Clinic. This makes Portmarnock Vet Clinic the first fully integrated veterinary practice, combining scientific methods with holistic, natural therapies in the treatment of animals. Holistic treatments come into their own when there is no conventional treatment available or where the side effects of pharmaceutical treatments affect the animal's quality of life adversely, such as the use of long term steroids or immune-suppressive drugs. We have found that many chronic illnesses can be effectively treated holistically and it can also be useful in improving recovery from surgery, speeding an animal's return to full vitality.
